Useful visitor information to help you plan your visit to Lakeside Adventures — parking, pathways, toilets, changing areas, water access, SEN support and what to expect.
Some water-based activities have physical requirements, but we’ll always do our best to give honest advice before you book. Need to chat first? Email us here.
We understand that every visitor’s needs are different. If you are unsure whether an activity will be suitable, please contact us before booking. We will always provide honest advice and discuss any adjustments that may help.
We want visitors to feel comfortable, prepared and welcome before they arrive. This page explains what access is like around our site, what support may be available, and where there may be limitations with water-based activities.
We would much rather have a conversation before your visit than have you arrive unsure, so please contact us if you have any questions.

We recognise that not all disabilities are visible. Visitors with hidden disabilities, sensory sensitivities, anxiety or additional support needs are encouraged to contact us before visiting so we can help make their visit as comfortable as possible.
We regularly welcome visitors with additional needs, disabilities and mobility challenges, as well as SEN schools, community groups and families.
One recent visitor with significant additional needs initially lacked the confidence to participate independently. Following a successful visit, the family later purchased season passes and the young person developed enough confidence to invite a friend to join them at Lakeside.
Stories like this remind us that accessibility is not simply about facilities and infrastructure; it is about helping people feel welcome, supported and able to participate in outdoor activities at their own pace.
This is just one example of how accessibility is about more than physical infrastructure. By taking a flexible and supportive approach, we aim to help visitors build confidence, feel included and enjoy outdoor activities in a way that works for them.
You will arrive via our driveway from the main entrance. If you are driving, please follow the signs to the car park. Blue Badge spaces are located close to Reception.
Participants should head to Reception first. Our team will check your booking, make sure your waiver is complete and answer any questions you may have.
Depending on your activity, you may need a wetsuit or buoyancy aid. Our changing areas are open-plan marquees with step-free access.
Everyone taking part in water-based activities must attend a safety briefing. If a visitor would benefit from a quieter or private briefing, please let us know.
The route to the water is step-free and astro-turfed. Water entry is via an astro-turf covered ramp with a handrail extending into the lake for swimmers & aqua park participants.
Our water-based activities are supervised by trained staff and lifeguards. If anyone feels overwhelmed, nervous or unsure, please speak to a member of the team.
After your activity, you can get changed, visit the café, sit in the spectator areas or take a little time before leaving.
Lakeside Adventures is a family-run business built around a beautiful spring-fed lake in the heart of Worcestershire.
Protecting the environment around us is incredibly important and influences many of the decisions we make. From encouraging visitors to arrive by public transport to supporting local employment and protecting the wildlife that shares our lake, we aim to balance recreation, tourism and environmental responsibility.
Being located approximately 50 yards from Hartlebury Railway Station allows visitors to reach us without a car. To encourage sustainable travel, visitors arriving by train or bus can claim free wetsuit hire when participating in eligible activities.
The lake and surrounding areas are home to a variety of wildlife including kingfishers, egrets, cormorants, red kites and numerous waterfowl species. We are committed to maintaining excellent water quality and managing the site responsibly to help preserve this environment for future generations.
Approximately 6% of our visitors currently arrive using public transport, helping to reduce car journeys and supporting more sustainable tourism within Worcestershire.

As a family business employing local people and welcoming visitors from across the Midlands, we are proud to contribute to Worcestershire’s visitor economy while helping people connect with nature through outdoor recreation and wellbeing activities.
We continue to review our facilities and visitor feedback to identify opportunities to improve accessibility and inclusion across the site.
